THINGS TO DO:

Covington

Covington, Kentucky. Also known as The Cov. Aka “If Cincinnati was Manhattan then Covington is Brooklyn.” Covington is the middle city of NKY, in between Florence and Newport. It’s also just a bridge-walk away from downtown Cincinnati. Covington’s history is rich in firsts. It’s the first city in Northern Kentucky to pass a non-discrimination ordinance protecting LGBTQ people. A Covington politician, John G. Carlisle, was one of the co-creators, along with E.H. Taylor, of the Bottled in Bond Act-- guaranteeing high quality bourbon for the first time in U.S. history. And the inspiration for the Brooklyn Bridge grew in John R. Roebling's mind in Covington. Seriously, the Roebling Suspension Bridge, which he designed and built, spanning from the banks of Covington to Cincinnati was Roebling’s model for the Brooklyn Bridge in NYC.

One of the best things about traveling to Covington is the array of authentic, local as local gets, unique shops, street art, restaurants, walking tours, bourbon bars, and craft breweries to visit. Florence

Florence

Florence, Kentucky. is the second largest city in NKY and one of the fastest-growing communities in the state. You can't miss it when you see the famous "Florence Y'all" Water tower while driving down I-75! Located along the interstate and next to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), Florence is conveniently located close to all the fun things to do, great places to eat, and local secrets offered in the NKY/Cincy region while also enjoying the relaxed lifestyle of the Kentucky countryside.

Catch a Florence Y’alls baseball game, polish your skills at World of Golf, then get some air at DEFY Florence! If you’re looking for more horsepower, catch a live race at Turfway Park then race around the track at Full Throttle Indoor Karting. Or maybe a history lesson and bison viewing at Big Bone Lick State Historic Site is more your speed. Don't forget a distillery tour at Boone County Distilling Co.! The family fun doesn’t end there—you’re only minutes away from Ark Encounter and Creation Museum, where state-of-the-art exhibits bring the stories of the Bible to life, botanical gardens awaken the senses, and zip lines thrill all ages. Newport

Newport

Founded in 1795, Newport, Ky. has a rich history and features tons of contemporary development packed into 3.5 square miles. As home to premier area attractions such as Newport Aquarium, Newport on the Levee, MegaCorp Pavilion, Bridgeview Box Park, Hofbrauhaus, and BB Riverboats, it’s no surprise that visitors love finding things to do in Newport. The city’s riverfront area provides a breathtaking view of the Cincinnati skyline and hosts numerous festivals and events year-round.

Serving as a military post during the Civil War, introducing mass transit in the 1860s, and surviving a major flood in 1937, Newport experienced turbulent times during the 1940s through 1980s as gambling halls and Las Vegas-style nightclubs operated throughout the city. Reform efforts to clean up the city led to political and social change, and have transformed Newport to the hot bed of development that it is today. Home to popular tourist activities as well as unique shops, cafes, and businesses, Newport’s riverfront community is brimming with experiences for locals and visitors alike. Corridor

Corridor

No matter the nomenclature, Northern Kentucky’s corridor is packed with things to do and is always just minutes away from downtown Cincy, Covington, Newport, or Florence. Home to Northern Kentucky University (NKU), Thomas More University, Crestview Hills Town Center, and more, The Corridor offers tons of sports, shopping, and dining to keep you busy.

Interstate 275 circles around the Cincinnati metropolitan area. It spans the Ohio River across two bridges and is the only branch route within the Interstate Highway System to enter three states (Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana). The Corridor refers to the area of 275 that spans three counties (Boone, Kenton, and Campbell) in Northern Kentucky.
